Join Circles and Ciphers on Wednesday August 15 for the first of a two part event to explore, through conversation and art-making, one of our core values.

“We honor those who came before us as we move forward. Learning from our ancestors helps us on our journey to creating a sovereign community based on principles of restoration and transformation. We honor the voices of young people as being the best way forward. We ask our elders to build new models of “safe communities” with young people”.

Rachel  will guide participants in creating designs we will use for Part 2 of the workshop which will take place on August 30 at the Homan Square SAIC studio. Here we will silk screen your designs onto paper and/or fabric.

Rachel will also discuss her art-making with and for women in prison. https://www.rachelawallis.com/about.html

If you are unable to attend both sessions we will find ways to incorporate your design.
