Throughout the course of this 10-week collaborative project, adults of all ages from the Rogers Park, Evanston and Austin areas will explore the five pillars of Hip Hop: b-boying, MCing, knowledge, graffiti and DJing.

Besides creating and performing new work, community members will explore the importance of language in graffiti, and the ways in which it has historically been used to create a voice against incarceration.

At the end of each class, a “breaking bread” will happen. Participants will share meal at a restaurant in the Rogers Park community and develop relationships and connections.
