“Collateral Consequences of Incarceration,” the second event of the Incarceration at the Present Moment series, will focus on honoring the stories of our loved ones who have been incarcerated and how it directly affects their families and friends around them.

A participatory quilting workshop will be held by artist and activist Rachel Wallis that will take the time to let loved ones humanize victims that have been incarcerated otherwise known as a statistic or a criminal.

Prior to the workshop, small circles will be conducted to allow community members to express the direct impact that having a loved one in the system has had on them. Honoring the stories of these victims through their loved ones is a vital piece in understanding the inhumanity of incarceration.
