Community members can register to get hands-on experience creating theater that has an immediate impact in the neighborhood. Throughout the course of this free 10-week theater project for community members from the Marshall Square, Little Village, Pilsen, and Brighton Park neighborhoods. It will use theater and writing to explore the topics of surveillance, incarceration and immigration to draw connections between the past and present. Led by professional artists, students will work together to create a compelling, dynamic theater piece that will be shared with the community and the public at an Open House on Friday, August 17th. Community Art Projects will also be shared in some capacity in a culminating, citywide exhibition for Envisioning Justice in Fall 2019.
